Quarantine Roundup 3 - June 10 to July 26

As the summer moves apace, more opportunities for outside excursions have developed, so the progress has been somewhat lighter than in previous roundups, but I still have lots to report.



June 18: I volunteered more time to paint up three more marines for the 100-marine charity challenge on the 1 Hour a Night Facebook Group. We should be getting a lot more shipped in and then I can start putting together the display case for them.




June 25: I decided it was high time that I get the Mekboy Workshop painted up. This was gifted to me by my FLGS when the codex was released. What a delightful kit! I also added a few extra grots.



July 8: After a good week of hobby hiatus (though I was working diligently on researching and preparing podcast material for the 9th edition release) I finally completed the repaint of El Queso Grande. As usual, this involved replacing the red with blue and intensifying the yellow while making various other touch-ups here and there.


July 11: I spent this rainy Saturday updating Da Steemrolla. I thought it was high time for some more flames. Although this model was already yellow, the work was fairly significant. The deffrolla is from Puppetswar.


July 20: The repaint of the Flashy Ride was far more significant and included the removal of the original Zzapgun and shield on the front. I, then, created a custom deffrolla and set it up so I could magnetize either foredeck.



July 22: The Disciples of Purity (the fallen Black Dragons from Death of Antagonis) got a new Elites member.



Ongoing Projects: The two big projects in progress are the Gahzghkull Meets Gahzghkull diorama and the Looted Thunderhawk. These are quite daunting.

I made this Battlewagon from the Genestealer Cult Rock Grinder and the Galvanic Servohauler . There are also various other Ork bitz, especially the gretchin from the Stompa kit as well as some other strange bitz from various sources. I will likely simply use this as a Battlewagon and drop the crane as a mek workshop at the start of the game. I might also try using this as a Lifta Wagon. Oops. Need to drill my barrel holes.

Quarantine Roundup 2: April 27- June 10

In my last post , I talked about the four main things I have left to do from my backlog: Blackstone Fortress The Unmade The Splintered Fang  The Elucidian Starstriders Although I did manage to get some interesting basing down on the Blackstone Fortress models, I didn't get any paint on these. I did still get a lot of stuff done. May 6: I felt so daunted by all these projects that I pulled a lot of metal out of one of my storage boxes and painted it. I got into Warhammer, at first, through Battlefleet Gothic. It was a great game for its time and the models are great fun to paint. I re-painted WAAAGH! Drillteef's fleet in the colors of the warband. I didn't even really bother stripping them as most BFG models have very deep, overstated details that hold up even with multiple layers. How Did it Come to This? 10,000 Points of Painted Orks

One can only make so many milestone posts before people eventually get soul-crushingly bored of them.  However, I'm going to make an exception here because with my Vengeance Batteries, I've reached a total of 10,000 points painted with my Orks.  These points include reasonable upgrades, but not ridiculous add-ons like Kill Kannons for the Battlewagons.  Let's not be silly .
