Warp Mek Sizzlegrub

Sizzlegrub is one of WAAGH! Drillteef's many Big Meks.  However no one would say Sizzlegrub doesn't stand out in a crowd.   He's constantly working at miniaturizing Tiny Sun Teknology ® to produce stranger and stranger contraptions including the deadly Shokk Attack Gun!  Between his meddling with the power of the Warp and his many bionik implants, he's become a bit unhinged.

Of course, can any boss in WAAGH! Drillteef claim to have a totally unbroken noggin?

It has been far too long since I've put paint on an Ork model.  Far. Too. Long.  I'd almost forgotten how relaxing it is to delightfully splash paint on a familiar miniature.  I still have work to do for the podcast and I have a bunch of Orks to paint for Adepticon.  I also have to paint a Sisters squad for March, but then it's right back to the grindstone with my commission.

These aren't really beauty shots.  I took these really quick with my phone.  I haven't even gotten a layer of Testor's Dullkote on him yet, but I had to get some photos up before midnight tonight in order to make my February Motivational Challenge for the Freeboota forums.  I am now officially at "March" for both the Moto Challenge and the Independent Characters Hobby Progress Challenge.

I'll probably go back and touch a few things up.  As usual, the skin needs an additional highlight.

How Did it Come to This? 10,000 Points of Painted Orks

One can only make so many milestone posts before people eventually get soul-crushingly bored of them.  However, I'm going to make an exception here because with my Vengeance Batteries, I've reached a total of 10,000 points painted with my Orks.  These points include reasonable upgrades, but not ridiculous add-ons like Kill Kannons for the Battlewagons.  Let's not be silly . Joke Armies - an Editorial

Ponies and Smurfs and Gundams! Oh my! Sometimes someone posts a joke army they've built and painted on the internet and the internet lashes out against it, sometimes quite vociferously. I have a problem with the strong objections to these armies, with caveats. Please note that, throughout this article, I will refer to armies which break the 4th wall and are incongruous to the 40k fluff as "joke armies".  Of course, I do realize many hobbyists who choose to build their armies in this way do not mean them as a joke and take it very seriously, but I need some kind of general term for the article. More Arm-Chair Game Design - The D

I was over on the Frontline Gaming forums chatting about D-Weapons in 40k when I had a little bit of an amateur game design thought about how to streamline the rules for D-Weapons in 40k.  It's clear that the primary issue is the alpha strike component of the rules which really make even fluffy games of 40k a bit of a snooze fest with entire swaths of models meeting their maker far too early in the game. Having said that, though, there are a lot of fun units which are allowed in Escalation which could be great fun.  Many of the Baneblades are really cool and, of course, my green heart adores Stompas of all variety.
